Sympatico HSE and Mandrakelinux 9.1

Hi everyone;

I just finished intalling Mandrake Linux and I have to say, Linux is way better than Windows.

Anyways, I live in Canada and I have Sympatico High Speed Edition Internet service. The problem is I can't seem to get it working with Mandrake Linux 9.1. I tried a couple of things like rp-ppoe but i doesn't work! Sympatico HSE uses PPPoE to connect me to the internet.

What should I do to get the internet up and running on Mandrake Linux 9.1?

I never used 9.1 so I don't know if I can help much, but I use the same type of connection (PPPoE) with Aliant/Sympatico with no problems in Mandrake 10. Easy to setup a new connection. If you are behind a router, just use lan for the type of connection, but if you don't use a router, this is how to set it up in 10

Mandrake Control Center > Network & Internet > New Connection > ADSL Connection > Select eth0 > PPPoE > Enter settings and you're done.

Is your ethernet card configured?
