Supporting Mandriva?
Several years ago, I bought multiple copies of Mandrake. The last one I remember receiving, offhand, was the Mandrake 9.0 DVD. I went through hard times for a few years, so all I did was download images every now and then and run off the Cooker most of the time.
This spring, after experimenting with one of the 2007 builds (can't remember which one at the moment) I figured that now that money is flowing a bit better, I would support the company again, this time under the Mandriva name.
Well, my credit union certainly recognized the purchase. It raised a flag with them because it was an international purchase. They verified several purchases on my account because the activity seemed unusual to them. I verified each transaction. That was several weeks ago, probably a month ago, maybe longer than that. I still do not have my purchase in hand. I may as well have given them a cash donation; nothing to show for it.
No wonder Mandriva is having financial problems. Distributing software should not take months, especially when the cash is in their pocket.
Anyone else have similar experiences? In contrast, I bought a DVD from Warren Woodford at SimplyMEPIS and had it on my doorstep a few days later. It looked like either Warren or someone working part time for him burned a DVD, packaged it up, and hand labeled the package. It worked, I got it FAST.
Maybe Mandriva needs to come over to the states and take lessons from a small operation called MEPIS in the hills of West Virginia, less than two hours from Pittsburg, PA.

Have you attempted to contact Mandriva to find out what is going on? Since they are in Europe, I would think a shipment would take considerably longer from there than from W. Virginia. When you made your purchase, did they give you any information as to how long you should expect it to take to arrive? If I were in your position I would be trying to contact Mandriva since they have my money .

Mandrake was in the cat-bird's seat with version 9.2 and they blew it. If I were you I'd support Duval's new project instead, as he's the one you really have to thank.
