Stuck with a choice here...solutions?

Okay, here's what's going on. I downloaded mandrake 10.0 official ISO's...wanting to try and upgrade from 9.2 (working great except for the whole acpi thing...) . Installed 10.0 with both kernels 2.6.x 4GBUP and 2.4.x 4GBUP because my machine has over a gig of ram on it. Under the 2.6 that ships with mdk10, everything works fine, except for my wireless card. The card auto detects fine, picks up fine.. Restart the computer, it says that the card has been removed. Okay fine, restart again, it detects it.. Restart next time, it's removed. Over and over, never ending cycle. But, everything aside from that works absolutely fantastic.

The 2.4.x kernel, the card doesn't get all weirded out, but half the software doesn't work. Wine is dead, most console commands are fubared, none of the configure options work. I would really like to get 2.6 to recognize my wireless card and quit adding/removing it. But, I would settle for getting all the 2.4.x stuff to work.

Any thoughts?

Did you use the upgrade option? If so I would try a fresh install.

I have tried both upgrading and fresh install with no results either way. Same thing happens.

A little more information, my wireless card is an orinoco gold minipci. Works fine under everything but kernel 2.6. I actually had the same problem on redhat kernel 2.6.x . ... I think that might be something that isn't going to be solved for a while, unless there's something I am overlooking.
