Streaming audio
Just cant get streaming audio to work.I havent installed the Mozilla Plug in but doesn't work.I believe XMMS can be configured but cant find a plug in for i586 Mandrake.Any help greatly appreciated.

please be a bit more specific. what type of streaming audio? a link, perhaps?
the thing with streaming audio, is most is written for MS media player or Real Player. if you install MPlayer for Linux & install the proper codecs for it, it will play everything. also, what you could try to do is check the file extension for the streaming audio your trying to play (usually it's .asp or .asx) & look in file associations to see what's associated to play those file types. if one player isn't working, choose another. if none is associated, tyhen create the file type & choose a player. if you're using KDE, you can do that in Kontrol Center (IE: configure your desktop)->components->file associations. i'm sure there's something similar in other DE's, but i use KDE so i can't help there. also, check file association in your browser's preferrence section & make sure the proper player is set there.

Well the link I use most is www.bbc.co.uk selecting radio.I think this is what you asked for, anyway thanks for the reply and I will work on it.

i just checked the link. i'm at work on Win2K (unfortunately) but i see they are Real Player links. so, i would suggest installing the real player for linux & the real plugins. real player can be real (no pun intended) proprietary with their stuff, so it might be tough to get any other player working with that site.

I use an mp3 stream in xmms, many great streams, i pull down the drop downs, then right click on the higest bandwidth selection, copy locaton, open xmms and then open location, then paste in the link.
