Hello,

I recently had a problem with my Mandrake box.
This morning, I logged into my box through SSH, and found that it seemed to log in but nothing was really happening, it would almost hang.... no prompt like user@box:.

So I walked over to my small server room and tried to log on locally, nothing really happened.
Just prior to this I tried to view a website on my server, which seemed to work.
And also I logged into an FTP account which also worked.

I couldn't type any commande when I tried to log in, nothing would happen, the text would write but no response.

So I rebooted manually.
When the box rebooted it stopped at loading the DevFs daemon.

I can't find an answer, I'm not a pro by any means, but have an interest in someday being one.

Well, for anyone who read this post...

I couldn't wait any longer to fix it because I was hosting a few sites for a few clients on that Mandrake box.

So I booted up with Knoppix and managed to back up all my files and my various config files.

I then re-installed mandrake and in no time I was up and had the same configuration as before.
