Soundblaster Live! 24-bit

So I am using Mandriva 2005 LE. The following is a crash result that occurs on boot up. What is strange is that on the first boot up the sound worked. I did do a software update, so don know if that might have caused my current problems. It seems to be associated with an aRts problem.

On startup it finds the sound card as an ALSA snd-ca0106.

Is it possible there is a conflict between the onboard soundcard and the SB 24bit?

Jongi 07-10-2005 05:20 AM

Right, now it seems everything is working. That is the crashing no longer happens and when I load up amaroK and Kaffeine, the relevant media will play except there won't be any sound. I have the kmixer settings all set to maximum. What more do I need to do to get sound coming out?

Jongi 08-05-2005 02:50 PM

Found the problem. I didn't have the right switch selected under kmix

Jongi 08-05-2005 03:38 PM

The switch that should have been on was the SPDIF Out
