Sound Configuration on a IBM Thinkpad 380Z

ok. I got Mandrake 9.2 on my Thinkpad....but how do you configure your sound...I looked through the help files and they said to run sndconfig under root...but when I do that nothing happens. I get this popup that says a bunch of junk about bugzilla, but when I hit ok it doesn't do anything

Hi, would you mind jotting down a couple of steps that you took to configure sound? I just installed 9.2 on the same laptop. Thanks!
