Small Fonts in Mandrake 10

I belive that this problem and this question has been asked and I did check out the responses but I have yet been able to fix the small fonts in the app for Mandrake 10. The fonts are just soooooo tiny in the apps. The KDE Look and Feel work just fine for those things that they have control over but e.g. the Mozilla APP is just to small as is their mail service bars/gui fonts. Is there a specific change to a specific file or two that would render the app fonts readable ??? Thanks, -Emmett

I don't suppose that it's to do with having to change the default minimum font in that particular app?

It's something I usually have to do if I have to reinstall opera for some reason. they seem to thing that I can get by with a default font size of 6, whereas I just change it to 12, otherwise stuff like the small print on the LQ home page etc is just about unreadable.

regards

John

Paul , John: Thanks for the replies. The font preference in mozilla does not address the bars, headers, etc. and I made the change to my file with the 96 dpi as Paul was recommended to do ..... still no change. There has to be some file somewhere that defines which font and what size the app is to use ..... I seem to be struggling at figuring this out. I think Mandrake 10 is much better than 9 , 9.1 , or 9.2 so I will continue the hunt. I have seen several other files that deal with this problem but I have as of yet found the one that I guess I am still looking for !!! Thanks again. -Emmett

To change stuff in Mozilla try this...

#
# Change Fonts in ToolBar and Menu
#
File: file:/home/{yourname}/.mozilla/default/????.slt/chrome/userChrome.css

menupopup > * {
font-size: 10pt !important;
}
toolbarbutton.bookmark-item > * {
font-size: 8pt;
}

Give that a try.
Other things can be defined by type about:config in the address bar of Mozilla as well.

Paul - - thanks for the tip. I went and researched your idea but also found the fix to my problem with the tiny fonts ..... turns out my display was set to 1600X1200....... I set it to 1024X768 and all my app fonts are now just fine !!!! So much better on the old eyes. Not sure how the resolution got set so high ....... I remember setting it correctly in installation ..but who knows. So Mandrake 10 is now so much better --- now that I can actually see it. Thanks again for the ideas and the help ....... -Emmett thanks
