slow mozilla flash plugin

I've had that problem for quite a while. The flash plugin runs very slowly in mozila. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the plugin itself but rather with Mozilla, since that same plugin works well in Konkeror and opera.

Anybody noticed anything like that ?

Thanks in advance

I've had no problems with Mozilla 1.1 / 1.2 and Mozilla FireBird 0.61 on Mandrake 9.0. I haven't tried with later versions of Mozilla.

Same with me. I had no problem on mdk 9.0 either....

Could be a 9.1 problem ... anybody else had the same problem?

I have MDK 9.1 and Mozilla 1.3. Just installed the flash player and no problemo.

How do I install the plugin, I've had a hell of a time with it.

TallAmericano 10-17-2003 06:54 PM

I followed the instructions in the Readme file. (This is for Flash Player for Mozilla). First I downloaded the package into an empty directory (Downloads). I extracted the files here and it creates a sub-directory called "install_flash_player_6_linux". I then opened up a konsole (as root) and navigated to my /Downloads/install_flash_player_6_linux directory. From there I typed:
./flashplayer-installer

The installer will instruct you to shut down your browser(s). It will also ask you to type the location of your Mozilla executable ( /usr/lib/Mozilla1-3 for example). Hit enter and away you go.
- Once the installation is complete, the plug-in will be installed in your Mozilla browser. To verify, choose Help > About Plug-ins from the browser's menu.

Good luck.
