setting up cable modem?
 

Can anyone tell me how to set up my Scientific Atlanta WebStar DPC 2100 cable modem in Mandrake 10.1? I am using a USB connection to the modem with Windoze, but I also have an Ethernet adapter in my computer.

To be serious, there appear to be some problems using the USB connection to cable modems in Linux (or at least Mandrake) right now .

Padma is right: Use the ethernet connection.
The following command (as root) should get your connection established:

dhclient eth0

I have gotten eth0 working (or so says the config utility), but nothing's coming through and I can't connect out. Any troubleshooting tips?
