Seriouse problem with friends MDK 10, locks crashes. WHY! MANDRAKE! WHY!
I have a seriouse issue with my friends MDK 10 install. Every 10 minutes or so, IT LOKCS UP AND CRASHES! WHY!? I believe its because of his SK8N Motherboard by asus, it uses that gay NForce 2 Chipset. Is that the problem, thers some jiberish that comes up at the start of MDK, it just loop back something for like 20 lines. And thats it. Whats going on?? Hes starting to get adgitated, please reply back soon.
yes, i agree............please post the error messages you're receiving. you can also get info if you look in the /var/log directory. without any specifics to go from, it's tough to troubleshoot. also, what video card is he using? it could be an Xserver/video related problem.
O sry, he uses an ATI Radeon 9600xt, with the Propietary drivers from ATI, and no I already know its not the video card, cuz I used VESA before, and it did the same thing. And ill get the "jiberish" as soon, as im able to get on to his linux.
Yes, you can also set "FORCE NO APIC" in the Mandrake Control Center under boot > bootloader. Turning NO APIC on seems to help fix certain hardware issues.
