Security Updates

I have a Dial Up connection but i want to download all the security updates, bugs updates and normal updates of the Mandrake 10.1. They're 590 MB. A friend of mine offered me to download the updates- I want to know if there's a Link to download all the updates. I want to doit without the URPMI command as he doesn't habe Linux. I also want to know how to install them

Thanks

You should be able to get the mirror url from your urpmi sources configuration, and use a tool to download the whole content of the directory. Then you should be able to dump them in /var/cache/urpmi/partials iirc, and then try to do an update. Otherwise you'll have to put them all in a directory and specifiy them all in one command iirc. Been a while since I had to. There are places that sell them all on cd-i think there's an app to make a listing of the contents of a directory in a urpmi compatable format, so you could make your own source cd.

I went to the page that's the source of the urpmi. It's

ftp://mirrors.xmission.com/mandrake/.../main_updates/

there are a lot of RPMs and i don't know which of them are the security and bugs and normal Updates, and i don't wanna read the description, it's too long!!!

does anybody know which files i should download.......... once i download them which RPM should i run, or should i ran them all?

If you want the security AND bugs AND normal updates then get all.
Download them to a separate directory and run 'rpm -F *.rpm'

If you know anyone who's any good with regular expressions you could parse the descriptions file and list the packages where the Importance: line matched.
Otherwise I dont think there's a ready made list of filenames to give to a download app.

Also man urpmi and man rpm.
