scanning through wine

I have a Genius ColorPage-Vivid3x scanner, and managed to install it under Mandrake 9.2. It works good with x-sane and Kooka, although it takes a while to start scanning...

However, there are some very interesting scanning features in Irfanview, such as saving in TIF format, and doing a batch scanning.

Using the newest version of wine (01/21/04, if I am not mistaken) I can use irfanview. But whenever I try to scan something, I get the message:

TWAIN ERROR!
Can't connect to device or the TWAIN driver is not installed

How can I scan documents using Irfanview, through Wine, with me Vivid3x scanner? Is there any way to do it?

Thanks...

i've been looking around trying to find info, and from all the feedback i have read, people are only using Irfanview for image viewing rather than scanning ....
those who have attempted to use it for scanning have gotten the same error as yourself, without resolvment ...
so i am going to say your chances are looking slim ...
but someone may just yet tell you how to do it ... who knows

Thanks for your answer, DrOzzThat's pretty bad... Irfanview is basically the only reason why I still use windows. I have lots of documents to scan, it's part of my job, and we use Irfanview batch scanning. IV can keep a pack of about 40 pages as a single TIF format, and that's pretty useful to us.

In case there is really no way to scan with IV, isn't there any other scanning program for Linux that can save many pages in a single TIF format too?
