Saving Window Positions?

I'm sure this is an infinitely simple answer, but I'm unable to find any documentation on it.

How do I save window positions. For example if I open KWrite and drag the window to the lower right part of the screen. Close the app and reopen, it opens in the upper left.

Is there any way for the different apps to reopen at their last used positions?

Thanks.
