RPM Problems

Running Mandrake 9.2 RC2, linux newbie figure the latest is the best.

Anyways im having trouble
1.)Installing RPMs I double click and it brings up the window asking me what program do I want to use to open it?

2.)Can't create a boot floppy, keeps giving me a loop error of some sorts.
3.)Cant figure out how to mount a windows drive.

Any tips would be apprecited.

Im going to assume most of my problems are coming from running a RC, so downloading 9.1 how. I tried running Red Hat earlier, and after seeing the interface etc of Mandrake in coparison I like Mandrake alot better.

Number 3 still stands, and also I have a 80GB sata drive, but mandrake dosen't see it, any reason why?

Hi there.

Yeah, if you are new and "just want it to work", stick with 9.1 until 9.2 is official. They are saying Oct 15(ish) for Mandrakeclub members, and then 2 or so weeks afterwards for everyone. (As an aside, if you like Mandrake, please do consider financially supporting them via Mandrakeclub).

As for the Windows partition, MDK should have auto-detected it and mounted it for you (usually as /mnt/win_c) but if you don't see it, you'll need to create a mount point. There's a good article on Linux World that can help you with that.
