retaining root authorisation in X

evening all

a slight problem if i may....when clicking on mandrake control center (for example) and entering the root password a yellow key appears in the taskbar to signify the authorisation. My only problem is that they seem to be making babies - whenever i open the control center now i get 8 keys flashing up at the same time when i enter the password, yet when i release the authorisation by clicking on one of them, the whole lot vanish.

This is slightly irritating because sometimes it appears to the right of the workspace switcher and shunts my taskbar to the left which i then have to re-arrange after the keys have vanished. This still occurs after restarts (and i don't save my state on the log-off screen either.)

if anyone knows how to keep them under control it would be great

thanks in advance

Would be nice to just have one.
