Replace xorg with xfree86 on LE 2005

Was just wondering if it's possible to somehow replace X.org with XF86 on Mandriva LE 2005. I currently downloaded and installed XF86 from this ftp site:
http://search.belnet.be/packages/man...media/contrib/
The installation went fine, I just need to know how, if possible to swap out X.org for XF86.

The main reason why i am asking this is because, I have an ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro card, and it runs very badly on X.org, even after I've installed the drivers from ATI.com for Linux.

What do you get as the output of glxgears? You should have uninstalled X.org before installing XF86, that way it would load the one you want automatically.

And I have cleaned up your post, there's no call for that ;)

When i run glxgears, It displays three graphical gears, as expected, and as for the output I get this:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
878 frames in 5.0 seconds = 175.600 FPS
980 frames in 5.0 seconds = 196.000 FPS
1120 frames in 5.0 seconds = 224.000 FPS
etc.
As far as uninstalling X.org goes, which steps should I take to ensure that nothing goes wrong when doing so. Simply remove it using Remove Software, and if so, which portions of it should I get rid of. Also about the error regarding XFree86-DRI should I be concerned about that, or not?

UPDATE: Now that I have uninstalled X.org, I went back to the console, tried to install XFree86, but here is the thing, it said XFree86 is needed to install the files I had downloaded from that site in the initial posting of this thread. So this would mean I need to find XFree86 3.3.6 for MDK 10.2.

Can you explain exactly why you want to replace xorg, I can't seem to understand what you want to achieve.

Redazz - That question as already answered in the initial posting by myself, here is the reason why:

O, I get it. The problem is that you can't uninstall all of xorg because there will be packages compiled against it, so uninstalling xorg can break your system. If its an option, just get an nvidia grapics card.

Well, it would seem that I no longer need to really get XFree86 installed anymore. Seeing as I was able to finally get my ATI card working absolutely beautifully under MDK 10.2. In fact, let me put it to you this way. It works so darn nice, that Doom 3 even runs near perfect!
