I cannot get into linux anymore, because lilo will no longer show up, I know why, but I don't know how to get it back. This is what I did:
Install win xp long time ago on my 60gb hd
Added 120gb hd few months after
Installed Mandrake on 120gb, kept windows on 60gb
Worked fine with Lilo
Reformatted my 60gb (C drive) and reinstalled win xp yesterday
Now I need to know how I can get back into Mandrake.
You deleted the content of the MBR when reinstalling Win XP, thus deleting lilo.
What you need to do is to boot with the first Mdk 9.2 CD. At some point, you will have the choice to install/upgrade Mandrake (don't go there) or to enter in a "special" mode (sorry I don't recall by heart the right words...). Anyhow, in there, somewhere, you will find an option about reinstalling lilo (in the MBR or elsewhere). I think it was in the "rescue" mode, at least in Mdk 9.1 it was.
well, before even reading this, I figured I would try putting in the linux first cd, I just went to normal install, then update, then when it asked for the second disk, after not doing anything, I clicked cancel, it then proceeded to reinstall Lilo...
