Recording Live Streaming Video

Tomorrow, my friend is graduating from a masters program. The graduation will be streamed live at: http://www.nsnsports.net/ppv/?load=h...Selection.html. I want to be able to record the ceremony, are there any programs that will allow me to do this?

I forgot to mention that I have a Mac also, so if anyone has a solution for Mac, or Mandriva, that would be great.

I dont know If ill be much help but as no1 else has replied maybe they might tell us that my idea will or wont work.
Id try find the address of the stream (not that I could i did have a quick look at your link) then open the stream with VLC media player and push the record button and record it.
File menu / open location from clipboard is handy sometimes.

Yea VLC works great for recording live stream. VLC is what I use for that. I also use it to watch or listen to streaming content if the web page won't work under Linux. I just do a view source at the web site, find the stream address, and then open up VLC, and tell it to play a network stream, and enter in the address.

Yes, but how do you record with VLC 1.1.11? I've seen tutorials of earlier versions being able to just record via hitting a record button, but 1.1.11 doesn't appear to have that. Thanks

The same as with the older versions, open up VLC and click on "Media", "Open Network Stream", "Network", and enter the internet address of the stream.

Edit: Oops I see you are asking about recording. Here's the instructions they also are the same as with older versions:

Open up VLC and click on "Media", "Convert / Save", "Network", Then enter without the quotes
"http://www.barnabasroad.com/WKES2.asx", then click "Convert / Save". Under Destination, Click "Brows", and enter "Test.mp3", click on "Display the output", under "Settings" change it to "Audio MP3" then click "Start".

Ok,since you watched live streaming video on this site, u may use some virtual video capture device. As you stream these videos, only use its recorder to capture live video stream. Do not download directly, just record them while playing videos.
