qt not found when compiling
I found an interesting thing on kde-look.org, and I wanted to try it out, so I downloaded it, and I got this from ./configure
Code:
[simon@localhost kbfx]$ ./configure --prefix=/usr |
Install the qt-devel package, it contains the header files etc u need to compile stuff which links to qt.
|
Make sure the QTDIR environment variable is pointing to the install?

Code:
export QTDIR=/path/to/QT |
Ok, I did that, and then it found QT, but then this error came up:
checking for Qt... libraries /home/simon/Desktop/qt-x11-free-3.3.4//lib, headers /home/simon/Desktop/qt-x11-free-3.3.4//include using -mt checking for moc... /home/simon/Desktop/qt-x11-free-3.3.4//bin/moc checking for uic... /home/simon/Desktop/qt-x11-free-3.3.4//bin/uic checking whether uic supports -L ... yes checking whether uic supports -nounload ... yes checking if Qt needs -ljpeg... no checking for rpath... yes checking for KDE... configure: error: in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix! [simon@localhost kbfx]$ So, where exactly are the KDE headers? I chose /usr/lib/kde3, but that didn't work. |
It would be good to know the prefix you're trying to configure for. If you haven't specified a prefix as an option to configure then its most likely /usr/local
If it's /usr then all you should need to do is install the relevant kde*-devel packages. A quick way to get these would be to install kdevelop as the kde*-devel packages are dependencies of that. If the prefix isn't /usr then you also need to specify the location of the kde libraries and headers - run ./configure --help and find the option for this. You could have probably done this with the qt stuff as well instead of setting the QTDIR environment variable. |

To solve your problems you need to install the libkdecore4-devel and libqt3-devel. After that run your ./configure script again.

Thanks reddazz, I got it working!
