proftp default directory how to change???

I have just figured out how to get proftp working and I have one last thing I am trying to do here and that is that I want to change the default directory of the ftp to be /ftp instead of it going right to my /home directory. I changed this and it still goes to the /home?

# To cause every FTP user to be "jailed" (chrooted) into their home
# directory, uncomment this line.
#DefaultRoot ~

I changed to this. #DefaultRoot /ftp

but this still does not allow it so what have I done wrong?

otherwise everything else is working great now.

Thanks but can I use this to setup this ftp site of mine to sync with another ftp server I have in another location? Will this do this or am I going to redo this ftp server? That is my next idea to try.
