problem with backspace in mandriva2006
 

in X interface of mandriva2006 for delete more characters i must press the Backspace key for each character . is normal ? i want if i press some seconds the backspace key to delete more than one character . how can i set this ?

If you use the KDE Desktop Environment, open KDE Control Center (System / Configuration / Control Center in the menu system).

Expand Peripherals in the tree view (left).

Click Keyboard in the tree view (left).

Click the check box next to Enable keyboard repeat if it is not checked already.

If Enable Keyboard repeat is checked already, or unavailable you may have to change your system BIOS settings.
