Unhappy problem booting up

I have gone cold turkey and replaced my M$ XP-pro with Mandrake 9.1 last night. The install was successfull; however, when i reboot, i get the following:
VFS: Can't find ext3 FS or ide0 (3.3)... mount error 22 mounts ext3...flags Kernel...Panic No init found try passing init=option to kernel...
(there may be some typos in there...it was quite late when I copied it).
Could this be because i said "Skip" at the Bootloader? What should I do...where should the bootloader go: one of the options was MBR, the other options (can't really remember) had to do with hd's and ext's.
I am currently re-running the installation and would like to know what to do at the bootloader installation section. I have just selected to erase entire disk. I am now on CD2 and anxiously awaiting your advice. It is appreciated and greatly needed.
Thanks.

If the only OS on this machine is Linux, set it to MBR. The config script should figure the rest out... At least, that's what Slackware does....

Thumbs up Brilliant!

That was it...during my re-install I set the Bootloader to MBR and now I'm a converted Linux user! Love Mandrake 9.1. Everything works! Why dual-boot when you can do everything in Linux??? I've got tons of packages to play with and can't wait to get started!
