Question Probably an easy answer to this LOL


i am linux noob, and using gnome how do i change window color background etc. Also, How can i make my windows opaque like i have seen on many screen shots, i am using mandrake 9.1

Same as in windows, right click the desktop, and select desktop background(color or bitmap, etc.). As for transparency, it depends. If you're using sawmill or another "lean" window manager (the default is usually sawmill), you probably don't have the option. It's a simple matter to install another one, and mandrake comes with a few different ones. Enlightenment is popular, and loaded with options. Simply install it off your cd's or as a download, set it up as your default window manager, then select the window manager options, and set your preferences as desired.

what i mean is how do i edit the colors of the actual windows, i know how to change the desktop background, my main problem is wondow borders and i cannot seem to get gnome themesd intsalled
