Ok....well....I have some problems with Mandrake 9.2:

1. All of these printers that I do not have installed are now in my KDE printers group...why??

2. The KDE CD burner software says that I need to turn on SCSI-IDE emulation...how do I go about that..

3. Menudrake doesn't work...I change the ICONS for the program or folder and they will not update...I used the update command, but it didn't work or even complete running....

4. ALSO, MandrakeUpdate downloaded the new Kernel source rpm file and it informed me that the signatures were bad, so I decided not to install...and btw...this file is 175 MB and I noticed that the other Kernel source that I installed was only 40 MB...what's the deal??

Step 1a)If you don't have a 'ide-cdrom' support as a module (check with lsmod), put append="hdX=ide-scsi", to your /etc/lilo.conf (where X is the identifier of your cdrom).
Step 1b)If you have that as a module, either don't load the module in question, or pass a parameter 'ignore=hdX' (where hdX meaning the same thing as earlier).
Step 2) modprobe modules ide-scsi and sr-mod.
