I had my Lexmark ( yeah, I know ) printer working with Mandrake 10.0 but it won' t work in LE 2005 ( 10.2 ). This is a fresh install, not an upgrade. I'm using the same z600 drivers, z600cups-1.0-1.i386.rpm and z600llpddk-2.0-1.i386.rpm and cups. I used KaddPrinter Wizard. It won't make a sound, not even a grunt. "ps ax" doesn't show any activity. Do I need to install the cups package from 10.0 to get this to work? I would have tried that already but I checked the dependencies and it looks like a pretty big can of worms. Thanks.

Could be the KaddPrinter Wizard is not much of a wizard after all try;

Well, I did the right thing and got an Epson printer. It's a CX4600 and works great.
