Please help (can't get sound working with flash player and firefox in Mandriva 2006!)
First off, I just installed Mandriva 2006 (free version) over ftp a day ago. I'm using alsa for sound, I've installed Macromedia flash player, I've installed aoss, and I've tried running Firefox sound though aoss in order to get the sound to work. In Mandriva 2005 LE, that was all it took to get sound in flash videos working perfectly. But now when I try that solution, either there is no sound or (more likely) Firefox crashes and freezes.
What's up with this? I know the whole "sound won't work for flash videos
problem has been common on Linux distros across the board. Has anyone else had this problem in Mandriva 2006 (free version), and has a guaranteed solution been found? If so, please give me clear instructions for solving this problem. I'd really like to get my new Linux system working with flash player again. Thanks.
