Playing a Video DVD in Mandriva 2009 x86_64 Powerpack

So I recently bought new hard ware since my previous computer was unable to upgrade any further. I was also required to switch from Mandriva 2007 Powerpack to Mandriva 2009. When I installed the free version the computer didn't know what a DVD was. I thought perhaps that if I installed the Powerpack version of Mandriva 2009 that the problem would be solved but alas no luck.

When I try using Xine I simply get the error

Code:

The source can't be read.
Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't
contain data (e.g: not disc in drive). (Error reading from DVD.)

I tried this both as a regular user and as root with the same error message coming up.

I also tried totem with no success. Normally I've found that it's a problem with not having libDVDcss installed, but I've tried installing that, I couldn't find a precompiled RPM file from a Mandriva mirror and compiling from source I'm not sure that it worked. However there were no errors from compile or make install.

I also have libdvdnav4 and libdvdread4 installed. If there is something missing I don't know what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Try installing libdvdcss2. You can do this using the package manager or from commandline with:
Code:

urpmi libdvdcss2
. You will need to have the plf repositories added to your sources. See any of the links in my sig for further instructions.

Worked great, with only one problem. The colors are inverted. It's like watching a movie using the negatives. Any new thoughts.
