permissions to use my hdd

I have 2 hdds and after installing linux, I found that i was only using one drive and could utilise the other for data storage. I have been into "configure your computer" and selected "partitions" and created a partition using full drive i.e. 38Gb. I also formatted the drive and called it usr2 (for some reason). But now when i browse to that folder, i can't create new folders etc in it, coz i don't have permission. How do i make the full drive available for all users as storage??

chmod 777 /usr2

No security this way though, people will be able to delete each others files. To prevent this, use the sticky bit:

chmod 1777 /usr2
