How are you going to be using the computer?
I.E. Webserver, gaming box, office workstation, multimedia box? |
The minimum is usually seperate / (root partition), /home and swap.
|
i just want to try it..
mnaybe will use it for surfing internet.. multimedia and downloading from internet... how many partitions should i make and how big each one.. from what i read.. refering from mandrake 10, we make a lot of partitions like /root swap /usr /var /home /tmp should i put all of this in my hard disk? and how big each one |
If you just want to try it, I would use the standard/default:
/ = about 5GB swap = double your RAM, up to 1M /home = Everything left. |
