Hello,

I was trying to do a package update and was going fine until I guess the server got out of date or something happened but now everytime I install a package through the package manager or try to run a update it tells me there that my install failed because the server list needs updated but it doesn't give me the option to update it. Can someone please help me?

I am running Mandrake 9.2 on a laptop at work.

ok I did a google search for urpmi and got the easy urpmi and was able to go through that but when I got to the update section it told me that the command was not found. Here is what I was told to type in the console:

urpmi.addmedia --update updates ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors...dates/9.2/RPMS with ../base/hdlist.cz

if that is wrong or I left something out please let me know

i'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do. are you trying to update your media sources? or, are you trying to add an update source?

to update your media sources, in a terminal as root type........

urpmi.update -a (enter)

that will update the lists for all your source directories.

if you're trying to add an update source itself, you can use easyurpmi (like you are doing). but, sometimes mirror sites will be down, out of date, or too busy. if that's the case, you'll get errors when trying to add the source. try several different mirrors until you find one that works. or, you can use MCC (Mandrake Control Center)->software media manager & click the "add" button, choose an update mirror from the list, & add one that way.

I was trying to update the sources but I just ended up updating to Mandrake 10.0 CE so I took care of it
