FLUXBOX.
I have Fluxbox installed but I haven't played around with it much yet. What is the difference between Fluxbox and Blackbox, they do look the same? I have used Blackbox quite a bit.
I put in a vote for WindowMaker I've tried just about every window manager out there. Other ones I like are fluxbox and fvwm. ion is pretty cool too. ctwm lets you have all kinds of virtual desktops, each with a different background.
Yea, I've tried a lot of stuff. I would probably use FVWN2 if I didn't have to spend inordinate amounts of time with editing script files to get to work like I wanted. I haven't yet been able to get the prefs program for it operating correctly. I keep coming back to Windowmaker. It's easy to get right. When used with gkrellm there really isn't anything else I need, I could want a bit more flexibility with window decoration (something like Windowblinds for Windows), but other than that, it's really all I've needed.
