orca

Hi

After installation of Mandriva2007,when i was trying to configure and use the installed applications,in case of orca ,a one time message! appeared telling me to type a word (command) ,but i postponed typing because i was too busy with other applications, then i forgot the word (command),which, most possibly consisted of three or four letters.
Now, clicking on orca,it appears on panel(taskbar) showing busy, then, disappears after a few seconds.
I typed orca --help, but, could not find what i had forgotten.
-What should i do now ?
Thank you.

Hi irajis,

I am not familiar with orca but I would suggest trying to run it form a shell. That way you should get to see some error messages which should help to point you in the right direction. I find this method helps when something won't run.

Andy.

Hi

Thank you,I ran orca from a shell as you say, this time it didn,t scape! but stayed possibly for a command which i did not know what(i just typed :autoconf, then automake, then autoupdate and help)!then i had to close terminal by ctrl+c !!

orca is a screen reader and magnifier which is regarded as an accessibility tool for disabled people, but in my view it can be used as a base for making speech software in future.
