Oops! I removed too much!


Hi Everyone,
I enjoy mandrake very much. I was removing some software that i didn't need and somehows i took add software function in Mandrake. Now i'm not bale to add anything. I do have the cd's though. Wouls anyone know how i could get this function back?

How did you remove it?

You can always re-add anything which has been uninstalled using urpmi or rpm, utilizing the INSTALL SOFTWARE GUI.

I think the person removed the gui for adding software opjose.

If you know what you are doing, I would recommend installing rpmdrake manually (rpm -ivh rpmdrake or whatever the rpm is called).

Otherwise I'd put in the first disk, and select the "upgrade" option. You don't lose data and it restores the system files to the way they should have been.

Yes i did remove the guyi to add software. I will try the upgrade idea.
