NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run ??

Hey guys I am looking for the Nvidia driver "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5111-pkg1.run" and I can't find it anymore, there is a "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run" driver, but it conflicts with my 263-16mdk kernel, anyone know where it can be found? Or how can I make the 6111 version work?

I have the Mandrake 10.0 Official Power Pack....

Hey Thanks for the correction I loaded it and it worked. It was the 5336 driver.

Thanks,

d-1

Sure

ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/

Although there is no 5111.. 5328 and 5336 seem to be the only one's in the 5x revision.

Re: Sure

Perhaps it is the 5336, I could not remember. Trying to reload NVIDIA.

I appreciate it.

Question Pkg0 or Pkg1?

Which of them did you download? What are the diferences between them?

after having problems with the 6111 nvidia driver installation, i read through the nvidia faqs & found the solution. install the drivers with the following switch at the end.........

Code:
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run --add-this-kernel
worked fine on kernel 2.6.3-16mdk.

ricguitar, pkg0 has no precompiled wrapper versions with it, and pkg1 has ones for the most common kernels. Sometimes there's even larger subsequent versions, pkg2 etc, which have been compliled against less common kernel sources. Pkg0 will be smaller and fine if you know you'll be recompiling the wrapper for your kernel.
