Nvidia installer fails

Hi sorry if this is an easy one but i have installed mandrake 10.1 today coming from fedora core 3 (wanted a change) and its lovely very user friendly. Alas when i try to install the nvidia driver it fails, i managed this with fedora, but i realise my ignorance with mandrake has probably something to do with this I read a few threads beore hand so that i knew what i was doing (near enough same process as on fedora) i did urpmi kernel-source n that got it from the dvd, i then did init 3 to get to command line and then i did sh NVIDIDA.......... (downloaded from NVIDIA site) The installer started fine but as it was building it it came up with error n stopped here is the log hope some one can help me!

Gawd... this question gets asked SOOO often it should be a sticky with

"Trying to install NVIDIA drivers? Look here FIRST!".

You need to install the kernel-source rpm for the CURRENTLY INSTALLED kernel.

Find out which kernel you are running by opening a console/root prompt... and then

uname -r

Now install the SAME kernel source rpm.

If you have NOT set up your URPMI sources, (and WHY haven't you?) given a new install, you can merely type in

urpmi kernel-source

If you HAVE set up your URPMI sources (showing that you are indeed intelligent...) you will have to specify the full kernel-source file name to urpmi.

urpmi kernel-source-XXX.XXXmdk

Once it is installed, DO NOT touch, make, etc. the sources, or do anything to them before you run your Nvidia installer.
