Newbie Cant install packages...

This is my very first time using linux, and I booted the mandrake up with the floppy becuase my system is too old to even have boot from cd-rom

I get to the install packages part and it never asks me to swap cds

I dont have ANYTHING installed at all...help is nice

My comp is a 133mhz pentium with a 30gb hdd and 32 mb of ram, yes, old, just using it to learn linux, and mandrake was suggested...

do you mean that it doesn't proceed at all from the package selection part or that it just doesn't install a lot of things?

given your hardware specs, I suspect that kde and gnome won't work so don't bother installing them. You'll still have a graphical interface with iceWM (which is kind of like win95 in terms of look n feel).

Ah, I mean when I select the things I want to install then click next, it sits for a minute, then tells me it failed to find the certain packet. It never tells me to swap CDs or anything. Just that it failed nad to either go on or stop

burn new CDs if you can, at a very low speed.
