New to Mandriva, need to resolve some annoyances

Hey Guys,

After an accident with my old laptop, i got a nice new one for free . However it didn't agree with Fedora so i decided to try Mandriva 2007 (as its a KDE based distro). I was extremely impressed with the graphical installation screen, very nice, and was even more impressed when it managed to configure the network connection on my uni network (took 2 hrs on fedora due to KDE not being integrated). Managed to get the ATI drivers working after some mucking about and so the 3d desktop feature looks sweet. However, there is one major annoyance: KDM. This should have been installed with KDEBase, and urpmi thinks that it is, however mandriva reckons that it isn't. How do i get around this and install it because it is doing my head in to be using GDM and not KDM. Cheers

Hey,
Thanks for your reply. I sorted it in the end. Discovered that KDM wasn't actually installed, only the mandriva configuration file was. Sorted it with

urpmi kdebase-kdm

Installed fine
Thanks for your help
