New to Linux

Hi,

I'm new to Linux. Currently using Mandriva Official 10.1
I have several question:
1) Where are all the program files located?
In which folders?
2) How do I install font for both system and users?
3) Is there any PDF reader besides xPDF & KGhostScript
or any Adobe reader for Linux?

1)The executables are inside /bin or /sbin
2)I don't use Mandriva, but you can take a look at the control center if you're using KDE.
3)Acrobat for linux

look for newbie admin guide and rute guide in lqbookmark for some linux background
in Mandy menu > more applications > documentation

google LQ for easyurpmi you will need this

as root type
drakfont
(or via MCC Mandy Control Centre)
You can import true type font
