Netscape versus IE for browser speed
I have a question to ask about my browser speed using Mandriva. I am using DSL and sometimes it would take as long as 30 seconds delay to get to a website for both my Windows Operating system or Mandriva. I called my internet provider and they could only help me with windows. They bascially had me change my security levels in IE to a lower security setting, which helped my browser speed tremendously in Windows.
I noticed that my Netscape, Mozzila Firebird and even Konqueror take longer to turn a browser page. I went to edit prefrences and tried messing around with cookies in all 3 browser setting, but what is the optimum browser setting to have in either of the above browsers for mandriva Linux.
I know Windows has ActiveX and it may handle the plugins easier than the above, but is there anything I can do to optimize my browser speed in Linux?
I would appreciate any suggestions....
