Need to define a second gateway on Mandrake 9.2

We're in the process of switching our network infrastructure to something a bit more secure. The problem is that for a short period of time on a dozen or so servers all running Mandrake 9.2 we need to have them use both the old gateway and the new gateway.

Under SCO it was pretty easy we just did a route add command. With Mandrake it appears to be the same thing except there are a number of extra options like M for metric and I'm unsure were I'd find what the metric should be. Any help would be appreciated. The results from Google have been a bit confusing on the subject.
