Need program to Ping ISP in Mnk 9.1

I am looking for a program like the one I had in Windows to ping my ISP to avoid being disconnected. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Use Kmail and check your email every 2 minutes.

Sorry, guess I wasn't specific enough. What I need is a 'ping' program that runs in the background [like windows TSR programs] while I'm on the web....to ping for a chosen time ..say every 5 minutes. Another item that may affect this is that I recently changed ISP's and my new ISP doesn't support programs like Pine.

Check out:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/keepalive/

By the way sourceforge.net and freshmeat.net are the 2 best places to look for linux software.

As for pine. Don't use pine if you are a newbie (except if you wana learn, then go for it) but if you want things to work. Check out KMail or Evolution. They are the most user friendly email clients available.

I started using email with pine (those university days ), and from the first time i fell it so simple and easy... not beautifull, but usable...
