I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to install Coin3d (
www.coin3d.org) on my Mandriva 2005 LE box. I've installed the Nvidia drivers, OpenGL, Mesa, and everthing else that looked relevant beforehand. The glxgears demo works fine. However, I get the following error when trying to compile Coin3d as root:
Coin configuration warnings:
* Could not find or compile or link against any usable window-system OpenGL binding, neither GLX (OpenGL on X11), nor WGL (OpenGL on Win32) nor AGL (OpenGLon Mac OS). The SoOffscreenRenderer functionality will be disabled. Note: thismight be a configure bug. Check the file config.log.
My colleague has Coin3d running just fine on Gentoo, but I know that's comparing apples to oranges, systemwise.
Has anyone gotten this or similar programs running on an Mandriva box? It's almost like the necessary libraries are on my system, but the compiler can't find them. But I really don't know what's going on? Can anyone help me?
