my modem still wont work
i installed mandrake 10.0 with the LSB option for the 2.4 kernal because my modem wont workwith the 2.6. i downloaded and installed the kernal source for 2.4 as it is not located on any of the install disks. i expected to follow the instructions that came with the modem driver and get it going like i did in mandrake 9.1 steps to install
1. login as ROOT 2. extract the archive into a directory with "tar -zxvf <archivename>.tgz" 3. cd into the directory it created. 4. Type: make clean 5. Type: make 536ep 6. Type: make install-536ep 7. When you restart the computer,Tye: bash 536ep-inst. when i get to step 5 i get a few errors and in step 6 it says cant load 536ep. i dont think i did anything wrong, i made sure i installed the kernel source ver 2.4.25-2mdk.i586.rpm thanks in advance |
the modem installes great on 2.4.21-0.13mdk kernel what would cause it not to on 2.4.25-2mdk
