Multiple installation issues.... xmms and firefox and mozilla and kopete

Im having problems installing all of these. I have done the tar and the rpm packages and none seem to work at all. I do know to do it under root and that is what i am doing but the programs still arent under my usr/bin file and they dont show up as menu selections. Any suggestions?

could u specify what errors u get in running
them??

try running them in shell

If you have the "Official" DVD or Disk set, all you have to do is add the missing URPMI sources like this

http://www.zebulon.org.uk/urpmi_en.html

Then

urpmi xmms xmms-plugins firefox mozilla kopete

and sit back and watch the magic happen.

If needed you will be prompted for disks.

You may also want to

urpmi plugins flash quicktime

to get any additional items as well.
