ms fonts - The world is rounder now!!!

I just installed ms_fonts package, and guess what? My Firefox shows all web pages as they should be!!! No more ugly interfaces / small and square fonts / broken fonts. I knew there should be a reason why my windows firefox showed much better looking pages then my linux one =P

I couldn't find this via urpmi, so here is the link:

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/html_singl...HOWTO/#msfonts

http://rpm.borgnet.us/10.1/media/RPMS/noarch/

Just download the mandrake package and vuola. Description and instructions are on the How To.

This I can add to "Things that anyone using Mandriva should know". Together with "How to set up urpmi"

Thanks for the hint! I started looking for fonts because my linux gui apps were getting ugly due to the weird fonts I was using. I think that I will use bitstream vera in my apps due to possible conflicts with Windows licensing with those fonts.

However, nothing better then those ms fonts for web sites / viewing ms office documents :^)

Want them to look even better?

and how to do it :-

Just do part 2 (Step 2: Turn on FreeType native hinting) and that will improve the fonts considerably. You can do the other steps but I found they`re not really needed.
