Mozilla and Firefox

I want to install Firefox but it says in the web page that I have to uninstalll the older version of mozilla. When I try to uninstall it it says that it also will uninstall Galeon which I don't want.
BTW, after I download the mozilla tar.gz, I just uncompressed and then go to the folder and type ./mozilla? Or do I have to do ./configure, make and make install. There is no configure executable thou.

No, just download the Firefox gtk2+xft build from mozilla.org http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...tk2+xft.tar.gz and untar it somewhere convenient. I keep it in my home folder as I tend to update it quite often and it's easier if I don't have to log in as root. Firefox keeps your profile in ~/.phoenix which doesn't affect mozilla at all so you shouldn't have any conflicts. They both work fine alongside each other on my machine.
