Move to trash works beautifully, but empty trash .. different story.

ok, When I move a file to trash it pops up the dialog box and does what it's supposted to do smoothly and seamlessly. However when I go to Empty the trash , it brings up the Progress Dialog and hangs at 0 Percent for a few minutes, then does indeed finialy manages to empty the trash bin.

I have tried deleting ~/.local/shared/Trash and restarting KDE .. no luck
I have tried changing the permissions on ~/.local/shared/Trash to full access to everyone ... no luck.

Anyone have an idea?

It's probably a bug in a patch or something. Unless you're willing to dig through source code to find anything paritcular to the trash-emptying features, it's probably something you're going to have to live with until someone fixes the glitch (which can minimize the time if you file a bug complaint with the KDE developers).

EDIT: I love the whole "bug" reporting system and software development cycle with Linux, and the like. It's not the Microsoft "pay us to send you a copy of our software and find the bugs" method.

Possibly.. Though I honestly don't recall ever updating my system, mainly because I am on dial up and if I update the kernel I've got to dig through a crap load of different LT modem packages to find one right for my modem/kernal.
