Mouse & Keyboard not working in Mandriva after upgrade
 

I have just upgraded to the latest Mandriva.

When i boot into KDE i have no mouse or keyboard support.

I recall there used to be a command line programme that would allow you to configure these.

I just don't remember what it was called.

Thank you, that was what i was looking for.

It hasn;t however, solved the problem !!

what would happen if I did a fresh install of Mandriva ? I suspect the issue relates to the fact that this is the same system that i have upgraded since Mandrake 9.

I will back up obviously ! But i assume the /usr partitions will remain unaffected ?

Moral of the story - read the release errata !!

"The keyboard and the mouse don't work with some cases
It seems that there is this issue because there is a problem in starting order between messagebus and haldaemon, and the default option AllowEmptyInput in Xorg's configuration. Start in safe mode when your system is booting, and with the root account execute these command lines:

chkconfig --del messagebus
(ignore the errors)
chkconfig --add messagebus
reboot"
