monitor not connected

i have been running mandrake 10.0 for about 6 months now. i had chosen to upgrade to 2006 and nothing went as it should have. i have lost all the data when upgradeing. after this happened i had tryed to do a fresh install with 2006 and run into more problems then what it is worth to me. now i have reinstalled 10.0 offical powerpack and have configured it as a LAMP Server. the problem i am now haveing is that i can not get the monitor connections to show me as being connected. now i have tryed a few ways to set this up but no matter what i have tryed i can not get it to show as connected. i am able to connect to webpages and can connect to webmin on hte server but off the server i am not able to connect to webmin that is installed and running, i am useing https://192.168.1.101:10000 and it will not connect. does anyone have an idea how to get the monitor connections to show as connected as i beleave this is why webmin will not work.

now under manage connections i have this

underTAB TCP/IP
DHCP
ip address = 192.168.1.101
newmast = 255.255.255.0
gateway there is nothing there

under Options tab
start at boot is checked
network hotplugging is checked

i am on cable and i thank you for any help
